ELECTRICIAN'S ASSISTANT

JOB TITLE: Electrician’s Assistant
JOB STATUS:  Full Time
WAGE RANGE: $10.00 to $15.00 per hour
EMPLOYER:  Hannah Solar Government Services LLC
PLACE OF WORK:  217 Cember Way Summerville, SC 29483
 
GENERAL: This Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) renewable energy company has been awarded commercial and government contracts for the design and construction of solar systems/electrical vehicles charging stations at federal facilities across the US & Puerto Rico. This rapidly growing company needs to quickly expand capabilities and is looking for innovative and motivated new technicians.

WORK DAYS/HOURS: Typical office work schedule is 8:30 AM to 5 PM Monday - Friday. Typical onsite work schedule is 7:00 AM to 4 PM Monday –Friday. Occasional work and or travel on weekend. Position requires extensive travel throughout the US and the Caribbean which is often greater than 90% of the time or more. Job hours may exceed 40 hours per week when traveling and working on construction sites.

JOB SUMMARY:
  • Assist with and perform electrical work on Commercial/Government Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems
 
EXPERIENCE:
  • Experienced in commercial electrical installation, construction, and maintenance
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Pass pre-employment/random drug screen and background check
  • Current driver’s license
  • Able to perform electrical labor, full-time, on jobsites
  • Experienced and comfortable installing PVC, Rigid and EMT conduit in the dirt and at heights
  • Flexible to assist in other duties for the solar array install
  • Familiar with duct bank install and wire pulling
  • Confident working on rooftops
  • Able to obtain a US Passport (for gaining entry to military installations)
 
DUTIES:
  • Remain current with National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Study blueprint drawings to determine methods, materials, and equipment
  • Monitor and test various electrical systems.
  • Work overtime when necessary  
 
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EQUIPMENT & OTHER: 
  • Familiar with basic construction processes
  • Use of forklifts, man lifts, hand tools, and power tools
  • Perform math computations needed in electrical trade
  • Basic building code knowledge as it relates to work in the electrical trade (NEC).
  • Basic understanding of computer documents and email
