HSGS to Build Solar Array for Trident Technical College’s New South Carolina Aeronautical Training Center
July 3rd, 2018
Charleston, SC- Turner Construction Company has selected Hannah Solar Government Services (HSGS), to design and construct a ground mounted solar energy system at the new S.C. Aeronautical Training Center located at Trident Technical College’s main campus in North Charleston, SC.
Trident Tech’s $80 million Aeronautical Training Center was developed in order to keep up with the demands of the growing aerospace industry that has evolved in South Carolina. This facility will occupy 25 acres of land at Trident Tech’s main campus, accommodating thousands of students as well as real aircraft and large aircraft parts.
HSGS was contracted by Turner Construction Company once before in 2014 to design and install a 742-kilowatt (kW) solar canopy on a three-level parking garage for the United States Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune, NC.
HSGS has already started the initial designs for the ground mounted solar energy system for the Aeronautical Training Center. COL Retired Dave McNeil, President, and CEO of HSGS said “We are excited for the opportunity to work with Turner Construction again on another incredible energy savings project. Our interactive design for this solar array will allow faculty members and students at Trident Tech to walk through and observe the solar energy system”.
