Hannah Solar Government Services (HSGS) is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business specializing in the project development, design, installation, and maintenance of commercial and utility scale solar PV systems, microgrids, and electric vehicle chargers for government, commercial, and utility clients. All solar PV systems are designed by an in-house engineering team and installed by NABCEP certified solar PV installers. HSGS is a fast-growing company and seeks to expand its staff.
JOB SUMMARY:
HSGS is seeking a highly motivated drafter to primarily focus on 2D drafting in AutoCAD and construction support for Solar PV systems. This employee will be highly motivated and eager to advance his or her career level as well as expand within the company.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
WORK DAYS/HOURS:
Typical office work schedule is 8:30AM to 5PM Monday – Friday. Job hours may exceed 40 hours per week when deadlines are approaching. Position requires some travel throughout the US and overseas which may be up to 10% of the time.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years of work experience or degree/certification in 2D drafting using CAD software
- 2 years of work experience or degree/certification using standard drafting techniques
- Common software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe

JOB DUTIES:
- Generate construction drawing packages/sketches/as-builts using AutoCAD
- General arrangement / layout drawings
- Section and elevation drawings
- Construction details
- Single and three-line diagrams
- Maintain AutoCAD templates and libraries
- Compile equipment documentation and specification sheets to submit to customers
- Provide sales department with preliminary concept drawings and technical assistance as needed
- Track material quote data from manufacturers and distributors
- Maintain material pricing libraries
- Occasional site visits to gain field data
- Perform other responsibilities as necessary to support the successful completion of projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong understanding of general math, trigonometry, and geometry
- General understanding of both electrical and mechanical concepts
- Knowledge of drafting symbols and abbreviations
- Sit and work at computer for long periods of time
- Multi-task, prioritize, and work on multiple projects
- Stay on task and take initiative with little supervision
- Work in a team environment as a team member
- Communicate clearly with team members, customers, and vendors. Written and verbal.
- Comfortable working on a construction site and in different environments including rooftops, military based, and government facilities.
- Willingness to grow to career level as well as expand within the company
- Willingness to learn solar photovoltaics and applicable codes
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & OTHER:
- Experience with Solar PV designs
- Proficient with Engineering and Design work flow
- Familiar with reading and interpreting code specifically the NEC
- Familiar with issuing drawing revisions and document control
- OSHA certifications
- Military Background
